Zoo Time April 29, 2012
Today we decided to take a family trip to the OKC Zoo! It’s one of our favorite places to go. Before heading there we stopped for a good ole McDonalds breakfast.
Once at the zoo, Jayden decided we had to see the elephants today. We set out for the elephants, but stopped to see a few other animals. Of course, Jayden had to read the map to make sure we were going the right way! lol
The rhino was sitting in the water. The gorilla was just relaxing and turned the opposite way when we walked up. We called for the gorilla to turn around and I swear I think I got the finger! lol Finally, the gorilla turned around for a picture! We also visited with a peacock that was wondering around freely.
When we got to the elephants, there was a showing going on. Since the weather was cloudy and looked like it might rain, the show was empty!! Awesome!! We watched and then talked to the trainer about the elephants.

My dear friend, Susan, is very sick…. 😥
Susan and I meet for the first time when our principal sent us to a overnight conference where we had to share a hotel room. Before the trip, we knew nothing about each other. After the trip, we were close friends!!
Susan and I begin to teaching in the same building. We planned our days and activities together. We meet for breakfast before work to chat. My son calls her Grandma Susan. We went to the gym after work even signing up as a family plan. I argued with the gym to get Susan on the family plan with my husband and I. We shopped together. So many memories!!
When I moved to the metro area, I missed all the time with my dear friend! I moved to a place where I felt all alone and longed for a friend. Susan and I still talked on the phone all the time which helped with me being so lonely. During the school week, Susan and I talked every morning on my way to work.
The morning Susan became so very sick, I had told her she couldn’t go into work because her sentences made no sense. Of course, she tried! That evening I received a text from another friend who happen to have a grandson in Susan’s class. The text said that Susan was in serious condition in ICU and she thought I would want to know.
I was shocked!! I called to talk to her daughter who filled me in some. Then I spoke with her other daughter and husband. They have been wonderful at keeping me informed!
Without going into details of what is going on, I ask everyone who reads my blog and PRAY!! Susan is a wonderful person, unconditional friend, outstanding teacher, amazing wife, awesome mother, and
loving grandma. She means so much to me!!!
Please Father keep Your hands on Susan and keep here safe as her body continues to heal!! Amen.
Karate April 27, 2012
I have a friend whose children take karate. I tried to get Jayden to go about 6 months and he didn’t show much interest so I let it go. About 2 weeks ago, he asked me if he could go to karate. I made a one on one appointment for him. Today, we went to that appointment to see how he would do. The coach gave Jayden his karate pants and let him pick out his karate shirt. What an amazing moment to watch my child completely respect someone!! He did an outstanding job!
Next week, Jayden will start his trial lessons with the group of kids. Two of his friends are in the class which I hope it will help him adjust quickly. I hope all goes well and he continues to love the karate lessons.
Foot Rub
Thursday night Jayden wanted some lotion to run on him arms. I gave him the bottle and showed him how to use a little bit at a time. He decided he need lotion everywhere!! But he only got it on himself and he rubbed it all in. Finally, he brings the bottle back to me and says that he wants to put it on my arms and hands. He works hard at making my arms and hands soft. Next he decided to rub my feet down! Such a silly boy!!! Some girl is gonna be lucky cause this little guy loves to give massages and rub feet!! What a guy!
Precious Moments April 24, 2012
The moments spent between a mother and her child are so very precious!! I love the time that Jayden and I can spend together doing just enjoying our time. Many times we walk around the neighborhood, ride in the car with no radio, watch WWE, or hang out at Toys R Us.
The other night we spent some time coloring in our new coloring books. We bought new ones a while back but never colored. As we opened to color, Jayden decided he enjoyed my coloring book more than his …. So guess what that means? Of course, we traded coloring books and got to work!! What an amazing time we had!!
Unconditional Love April 23, 2012
Is there a way to feel unconditional love without being a parent? A friend of mine asked the question and made me wonder. I believe that the only way to truly feel unconditional love is to be a parent. Yes, your other family loves you but a love from a parent to a child is unconditional. A parent loves a child without expecting something back in return. The joy of being a mom is feeling that unconditional love between you and your child!!!

Today as I was resting, I was thinking about the little blessings in my life. Yoda is one of those blessing!! Yoda is one of our cats. She is so loving and always wanting to snuggle. Before Yoda lays in my lap she rubs her tail in my face begging for attention. Her tail leaves a ton of cat hair in my face which drives me nuts!! When you don’t pet her, she curls up in your lap or on your legs. At night, she likes to curl up on my back! Yoda is such an attention craving cat!!

On Saturday at my grandparents, Jayden pulled his skateboard out of the car to show off a bit for grandma. Grandma told him it would be hard
To skateboard on the rocks in the driveway. But Jayden simply replied “not for me Grandma!” Such a silly, self-confident little guy!!
Full Day April 21, 2012
Today, Jayden and I ran many errands this morning – post office, Walgreens, toys r us, and lunch. Once we got home we had to hurry and wrap Papa’s and Kenlee’s presents. What an adventure!! I wrapped on side and Jayden wrapped the other. Both presents turned out beautiful! As I wrapped, Jayden was in charge of giving me tape. As Jayden wrapped, I was in charge of giving him tape. Who knew that Jayden could wrap presents so well!!
